As you know, there are lots of video conferencing platforms out there. We use HireVue, which is a specialist interviewing platform - and is set up to make the process as simple and effective as possible.

So if you have a one-to-one interview, a one-way interview or a game-based assessment scheduled, we'll send you an email with instructions on how to join and download HireVue to your computer, tablet or mobile device.

Video interviewing tips

Treat your virtual interview just like you would a physical one. Do your preparation beforehand, so you feel comfortable, confident and relaxed.

Make sure you have a device with a camera - whether it's a desktop, laptop, cell phone ot tablet. Check things like internet connection and battery power.

Find a quiet place, free of any distractions - and consider what will be seen behind you.

Think of the lighting, and make sure that wherever you're doing your interview, your face can be seen properly on screen.

Have some notes handy if it helps - and feel free to check them during the interview.

Bring your experience to life, by thinking of some real examples to share.

Listen carefully to any questions you're asked. Dont' be afraid to take a little time to think of an answer.

Some video interviews may be one-way, which means there's no live interviewer on the other end. These will be on our HireVue platform - and you'll receive full instructions beforehand

In a one-way video interview, you'll have a series of questions from a recruiter or hiring manager - either from a pre-recorded video or in simple text format - and you'll record your response. Make sure you read the instructions properly; there's normally a limited amount of time to respond to each question, but you're able to re-record your answer once for each question, if necessary.
