Program Overview

We recruit a diverse range of recent graduates who are looking for a leadership career in a specific business area. Our Mars Functional Leadership Experiences are currently available across Finance, R&D, Procurement, Engineering, Sales, Supply and Technology. They will enable you to develop deep technical skills and leadership capabilities today, so that you can lead a department tomorrow.

Your future as an engineer starts today. The Mars Engineering Leadership Experience provides you with a varied experience. You’ll be responsible for your own engineering project and become part of our global trainee community. You’ll be a change maker too, so the decisions you make today will develop your capabilities tomorrow.

This program comprises of three completely different 12-month placements. In the first year you will manage your own project. In the second, you’ll live and work abroad while deepening your engineering skills for tomorrow. And in the final year you’ll gain your first line management experience, with your own team in a production or maintenance environment.

The Mars Finance Leadership Experience provides you with the opportunity to do a lot more than just crunch the numbers. You’ll be integrated into the business, working as a co-pilot, offering advice and making recommendations that will help shape our business tomorrow.

This program comprises of three 12-month placements. During the three years you will work in supply finance, market finance and financial control. So, you’ll get business exposure and opportunities to develop your skills, experience and management style.

The Mars R&D Leadership Experience provides you with the opportunity to explore various aspects of R&D and support the development of your science skills. You’ll get to work on world-famous brands and see the technical expertise, entrepreneurial spirit and communication skills you have today impact our world tomorrow.

This program comprises of three 12-month placements. During the three years you will get exposure to the key dimensions of a dynamic R&D organization within a FMCG global leader. You’ll also get the opportunity to experience our Chocolate and Petcare business units, working on new concepts, ground breaking science & technologies plus manufacturing solutions in both regional and global R&D teams.

The Mars Procurement Leadership Experience provides you with the opportunity to do a lot more than just analyze the market. You’ll also buy commodities, negotiate with suppliers and work across our brands within business segments.

This program comprises of three 12-month placements. During the three years you will drive projects to ensure we buy good quality products at the right price. You’ll also make sustainability a priority and take responsibility for your career and your world today and every day.

The Mars Sales Leadership Experience is designed for graduates who are eager to become the sales leaders of the global FMCG industry. You’ll get to lead sales teams, manage key accounts, execute national projects and explore new channels – as well as growing and developing your own set of skills.

Over three years and eight months, you’ll gain cross-channel, cross-regional and cross-function (within sales) experience in rotation. You’ll then graduate as a sales manager and prepare for taking on critical management roles.

The Mars Global Services Leadership Experience is a three year program which is designed for graduates who are eager to become professional management talent in IT or HR.

As a trainee on our Global Services Leadership Experience, you will rotate across different business areas such as IT, Finance and Procurement. This will accumulate to give you wide functional expertise and prepare you for taking on a critical management role in the future.

China

The Mars Supply Leadership Experience is for graduates who are eager to become functional leaders in the supply industry. The two options are the Supply Management Trainee Program, working at Mars Wrigley Confectionery for two or three years, and the Supply Management Trainee Program, working at Royal Canin for three years.

You’ll accumulate solid practical experience and develop professional skills in one of two specialist fields – Supply Make or Supply Chain. The program will also prepare you for taking on critical management roles in the future.
