We recognize there's work to be done, and we collaborate with our EI&D teams, leaders, and Associate Resource Groups (ARGs) to continue to evolve our organization, offering an environment where everyone feels valued and empowered. Our ARGs provide opportunities for support, networking, and learning; helping promote a sense of community and belonging. These are vital for ensuring greater awareness, shared understanding, and collective action across the whole of Mars. And the network's getting bigger all the time.

We empower our P&O Associates (People & Organisation) and Line Managers with exercises, trends and data so that conversations, interviews and internal reviews are unbiased and inclusive. It is incredibly important to us that we have the right discussions with our Associates, and the new people we attract to Mars.

Our campaign to support working mothers helped to normalize conversations around maternal mental health. We also offer support with mental health, resilience, parenting, and relationships through our Associate Assistance Programe (AAP).

41% of Mars leaders are women and we’ve advanced the number of gender-balanced leadership teams from 43% to 50% over the past year. We’ve expanded leadership development training for women across our regions and functions, based on our flagship “Women Leading Purposefully” course designed with Harvard University.
We’ve recently launched a pilot program, “Advancing Female Leaders,” and are placing a dedicated focus on functions that have under representation of women, including Supply and IT.

To continue gaining expert insight and advice, we’ve recently expanded our partnerships with world-class non-profit Inclusion and Diversity organizations including Catalyst (Gender), Out & Equal (LGBTQ+), Stonewall (LGBTQ+), Tanenbaum (Religion), Disability:IN and Gender Fair.

We aim to empower Asian Pacific American Associates across the business to be open and authentic while increasing cultural awareness and collaboration with our diverse associates.

This group helps promote unique backgrounds and experiences and build awareness about the potential and contributions of our Hispanic community.

MAAC provides our African American Associates with the opportunity to share their experiences, collaborate on ideas, and ultimately bring their whole self to work.

This group is formed by Associates who support our broader business goal to attract and retain diverse talent by educating and building awareness about their culture.

Our lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and ally Associates form this group. They encourage everyone to feel accepted and appreciated for who they are as individuals.

We inspire and support women in the pursuit of their personal and professional goals. The group also provides learning and networking opportunities and highlights the women leaders in our business.

This group shares knowledge and drives cultural awareness of Black Experiences. The council encourages recruitment, development, retention, and advancement of Black Talent.

This networking group is open to all Associates in support of veterans and military families. The group aims to celebrate the strength of our veterans, provide them a welcoming environment and assist with their onboarding process.

This group helps us promote an inclusive environment by celebrating our differences and promoting cultural diversity to make Mars an even better place to work.
