Program Overview

Our Mars Sophomore Experience combines diverse experiences and continuous learning for high-potential students. It’s your chance to become one of our top interns of the year. During the program you could learn about one or more of the following areas:

Sales
Engineering
Finance/Accounting
Human Resources
Supply Chain
Data Analytics
Procurement
Project Engineering
Research and Development (R&D)
Packaging Engineering

This program is a fantastic opportunity for you to explore different career paths and experience our unique culture first hand. You’ll gain a deep understanding of how we work, meet our senior leaders as well as our former interns and gain meaningful real-world experience. It’ll be a high-powered experience right from day one.

Who you are

You’ll be an undergraduate sophomore or student with two years of school remaining. Students typically attend this program the summer before they are eligible for the Mars Internship Experience. Unfortunately, you’ll not be eligible if you hold an H-1B visa or use Optional Practical Training. As we are unable to sponsor visas for our Early Talent programs, you’ll need to have permanent work authorization for the country you intern in. If you’ve met these criteria then all you need is a curious mind, passion for our brands, and the eagerness to learn, in order to jumpstart your career with us.

Our hiring process

Applications for the Mars Sophomore Experience is on a rolling basis throughout the spring semester (January - April). We may continue to accept additional resumes in May if positions are available. Accepted candidates will be notified by March as our Mars Sophomore Experience starts in mid-May. The Mars Sophomore Experience is a highly competitive leadership development program with limited space. If you are not selected for the Mars Sophomore Experience, we strongly encourage you to apply for the Mars Internship Experience once you are eligible.

Submit your application through your school’s job board (found on your Career Center system) and on our Mars website. You’ll find a link to the application process in your school job posting.

If your application is successful we will get in touch to schedule a virtual interview. We ask for your patience during this process as many of our interviews take place during the spring semester.

Following your interview, Mars will typically reach out within 2-3 weeks with a final decision.
